Alexis Trammell

Chief Growth Officer

Stratabeat

Alexis Trammell is chief growth officer at Stratabeat, the SEO, content marketing, and conversion agency that works mainly with B2B software and technology companies. She came to organic marketing from video production and advertising, joined Stratabeat as an account director, and served as its chief operating officer before taking the growth role. Chief Marketer named her one of its Top Women in Marketing in 2023.

From Account Director to Chief Growth Officer

She has said she spent more than a decade in content marketing, with a background in video production and advertising, before she focused on organic search. At Stratabeat she started on client accounts. In the agency's account of her 2023 award, she built its account-based marketing work, hosted a podcast for a client, set up client and employee onboarding, led a redesign of the agency's website, and standardized its SEO and content strategy processes. Earlier in her career she won several Addy Awards and Communicator Awards. She is a member of Chief, the network for women executives.

She became chief growth officer in 2023 and now leads the agency's marketing, structure, and planning. In June 2024 she and chief executive Tom Shapiro discussed Stratabeat's B2B SaaS SEO performance report on Superpath's Content, Briefly podcast.

Messaging Before Traffic

On the Revenue Boost podcast she said marketing executives usually come to the agency asking for a new website or more traffic, and struggle to say what problem it would solve. "Traffic alone doesn't equal new deals," she said. She argued that SEO cannot help a company whose site does not explain how it differs from competitors, so the agency starts by agreeing on that message with executives, sales, and customers.

She has been skeptical of AI as a selling point. "Many companies see AI as a differentiator or a magic solution, but it's really just a tool," she said, adding that AI-written content "can't replace human insights or originality" in pages written for buyers close to a decision. Her closing advice on the show was "don't just optimize where you are today, optimize where you want to be."

Selling Into the GEO Wave

In February 2026 she told the Digital Agency Growth Podcast, in an episode on lead flow, that she had moved from account management into business development after returning from maternity leave. She described years of slow groundwork at Stratabeat, narrowing its services, publishing original research, posting on LinkedIn, and speaking at conferences, which paid off when demand for generative engine optimization rose. She said GEO leads were converting better than almost every source except referrals.
