Running Operations at Animalz
Melymbrose leads operational strategy, financial health, and organizational design at Animalz. Public posts describe a global content operation serving dozens of customers and a distributed team with a deliberately small no-code stack: Airtable for the database of record, Zapier for automation, and Softr for portals.
She has written about managing freelancers and internal workflows without ballooning SaaS seats.
Building a Freelancer System in Softr
In a Softr customer story, Melymbrose (then titled Director of Strategy and Operations) explained that Animalz was paying over $1,000 a month just to give freelancers Airtable access, and that Google Forms patches produced formatting errors and daily manual fixes. The Softr portal gave writers and editors tailored views, assignment accept/decline flows, and status syncs back to Airtable.
Quoted results from that build include more than $700 a month saved on seats, three to four hours of her time saved per week, and freelancers reporting zero system blockers after launch. "Freelancers started using the portal, and there were zero issues," she said in the case study.
