Kalina MacKay is senior vice president of owned media at Go Fish Digital, the Raleigh, North Carolina, marketing agency, where she leads the SEO, digital PR, copywriting, online reputation management, and email marketing teams. She moved from journalism into digital PR, earning links for clients from outlets such as Forbes, Cosmopolitan, and The Washington Post, and now speaks on how brands show up in AI search. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
From Journalism to Digital PR
On The Digital Revolution Podcast with Eli Adams in November 2024, she described her path from journalism into digital PR, when she led Go Fish Digital's digital PR, copywriting, and design work. The episode covered how to pitch journalists, what the episode calls tangential content, and the most common link-building mistakes. She took on the owned media role in January 2025 and has since presented on GEO and PR strategies for appearing in ChatGPT and AI search. In March 2026 she and colleague Jaimie Hart spoke at the One West Tourism Alliance MarTech Summit on AI search for destination marketing organizations.
