Founder & CEO

Victorious

Michael Transon is Founder and CEO of Victorious, the San Francisco SEO and answer-engine optimization agency he built after freelancing out of an Arizona State marketing degree. He is known for narrowing the firm to systemized SEO, then extending that same entity-authority work into AI search programs and The Search Signal podcast.

From Arizona State to Victorious

Transon graduated from Arizona State University with a marketing degree in 2012. In an Authority Magazine interview, he said he took a full-time marketing job, then added freelance digital and social work because he was not getting enough hours. Clients arrived fast enough that he quit the job, hired friends, and treated the freelance book as the start of a company.

Company materials place the Victorious founding in 2013 (some profiles say he launched the firm in 2014). Early work mixed services; the lasting company story begins when he decided the shop needed a single core focus rather than another generalist marketing menu.

Dropping PPC to Focus on SEO

Reading Jim Collins's Good to Great pushed Transon to redefine what Victorious would be best at. He told Authority Magazine the firm cut pay-per-click and other lines so it could invest "finances, time, energy, brainpower" into systemized search engine optimization alone, even when adjacent services looked like easier revenue.

Victorious still markets SEO and AEO as one program built on entity and topical authority. Public awards cited across Search Engine Land and company pages include multiple Search Agency of the Year honors and Inc. 5000 placements.

Entity SEO and The Search Signal

On LinkedIn, Transon has argued that older keyword-only campaigns were never built for authority that survives when search volume shifts or clicks fall. He describes Victorious's move toward entity-based SEO as matching where Google's Knowledge Graph, BERT, and MUM were already heading, and he ties the same foundation to citation eligibility in AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Copilot.

He hosts The Search Signal and publishes research such as quarterly search reports and an AEO strategy guide. Search Engine Land lists him as an author covering SEO for brands including SoFi, Drift, FanDuel, and AngelList.
