Patrick Danial is Co-Founder of Terakeet, the Syracuse, New York, reputation and search firm he started with MacLaren Cummings in 2001. A product and technology leader who once ran one of New York State's early web-hosting businesses as a teenager, he has guided Terakeet's owned-asset optimization approach and proprietary software while the company grew into an enterprise brand-reputation practice.
Web Hosting as a Teenager
Danial told MarTech Cube that at 15 he built one of New York State's early web-hosting and colocation companies and brokered high-volume advertising and traffic deals before structured display campaigns were mainstream. Terakeet's leadership bio also opens with that teenage business.
Co-founding Terakeet with MacLaren Cummings
In 2001 Danial co-founded Terakeet with high-school friend MacLaren Cummings. Early company history began with a voice and speech-recognition idea before a 2003 pivot into SEO and later broader digital reputation work. Danial has described the founding as two young entrepreneurs watching search become a customer-acquisition channel during the dot-com years.
Over the following decades he guided product vision and innovation as the firm expanded from enterprise SEO into online brand management across search and generative AI. Company materials credit his prototyping habit with shaping owned asset optimization (OAO) and a suite of proprietary applications used by Terakeet strategy teams.
Terakeet's TAM Tool and Philanthropy
In the MarTech Cube interview Danial explained Terakeet's TAM tool as a way to move brands from a broad total addressable market view to a more precise serviceable market by scoring semantic similarity and refining keyword relevance against live search-result behavior. He framed machine learning and generative AI as enablers for marketers, not replacements for human-centered content, and pointed to patent work as validation of that product path.
Outside work he supports Syracuse-area students through Cause for the Cuse and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Syracuse. With his wife Jessica he has backed arts and education projects including the Danial Family Education Center at Syracuse's Everson Museum of Art and Light Work's photography programs. He lives in New York City with Jessica and their two children.
