Thomas Stern is chief revenue officer at Avenue Z, the marketing and public relations agency that works on performance marketing, PR, and AI search visibility. He came to the agency from sales leadership at media intelligence companies, including NewsWhip and the disinformation-tracking firm Alethea, and was promoted to the newly created revenue role in late 2025.
Selling Media Intelligence
He was vice president of sales at NewsWhip, which tracks how news stories spread across social platforms, from 2019 to 2022. In a 2020 LinkedIn post he announced that Reddit had become one of the company's data sources. He then became head of sales at Alethea, which helps companies detect coordinated disinformation campaigns. In 2023 he shared Fortune's coverage of the company, which described disinformation as "the new malware."
Revenue Strategy at Avenue Z
He joined Avenue Z in June 2023 as senior vice president of client solutions, leading work for clients in fintech, healthcare, and private capital. In November 2025 O'Dwyer's reported his promotion to chief revenue officer, a new position covering revenue and growth across the firm's performance marketing, PR, and AI optimization practices. "Thomas has been a force multiplier for our business, elevating client success and directly accelerating our pipeline," chief executive Jeffrey Herzog told the trade publication.
