Ty Magnin is CEO of Animalz, the B2B content-marketing agency he has led since August 2023 after marketing seats at Appcues and UiPath. He is known for building content and web programs that drive pipeline for software companies, and for turning that operator experience into Animalz's client delivery under founder Walter Chen.
From Boston University to Appcues
Magnin studied film and English at Boston University, planning on documentary work. With a young child and rent due in Boston, Massachusetts, he took freelance demo-video gigs for local startups, then moved into product marketing at WorkMarket (later ADP). He joined Appcues as an early marketing lead, built a roughly ten-person marketing org, and helped the product-led onboarding company grow from early users to about $7M in ARR.
He later took a management and leadership credential through Harvard Business School Online.
Growth at UiPath
At UiPath he led content and web through the company's climb from roughly $40M to more than $1B in revenue and through its IPO path. On his personal site he says that team delivered about $100M in annual pipeline, more than half of marketing-generated pipeline. In a Delivering Value conversation he framed the move as wanting to see how a scaled enterprise ran: "I'd built something scrappy. Now I wanted to see how the pros did it."
The same interview recounts a SharePoint mishap that nearly cost him the job and changed how he leads: he stopped treating stakeholders as blockers and began bringing people into decisions earlier. "I'm not here to be the smartest guy in the room," he told Andrew Capland. "I'm here to help other people grow."
Becoming CEO of Animalz
Chen handed Magnin the CEO role in August 2023. On LinkedIn Magnin marked one year as CEO in August 2024. Animalz remains a remote content and SEO shop for software brands, with public client names that have included Auth0, Amplitude, and Google, and with operators such as Julia Melymbrose running the delivery stack.
He still talks about AI as a content lever rather than a replacement for editorial judgment. On Marketing Powerups he described a tiered AI content system and said AI can give content marketers superpowers when it is paired with clear strategy.
