Apoorv Sharma is co-founder and CEO of DerivateX, the Bengaluru SEO and GEO agency for B2B SaaS companies from $5 million to $50 million in annual recurring revenue. He has practiced SEO since 2018, built and sold two digital publishing businesses, and co-founded the agency in January 2024. He leads its GEO method and speaks and writes on how brands earn citations inside AI assistants.
Two Publishing Businesses, Then an Agency
DerivateX's press and media kit says Sharma sold two digital publishing businesses before founding the agency, and the agency's GEO page dates the founding to January 2024. The kit describes a practitioner who started in SEO in 2018 and now leads the firm's GEO methodology.
The agency's about page states the thesis he put his name to: "Most SEO fails because it's treated like content production. We built DerivateX to run search like a growth system: clear priorities, shipped work, and measurable pipeline impact."
What He Says About AI Citations
The media kit lists two pre-approved statements. One reads: "AI assistants are becoming the first place buyers research software, and most B2B SaaS brands are invisible inside them. Our job is to change that." The other cites the agency's own finding that "ChatGPT cites a brand's own website only 11.6% of the time," which he says changes how SaaS companies should think about content.
The agency's benchmark study, which it reports found 44 percent of B2B SaaS companies invisible to AI-assisted buyers, is covered in the kit's press list. Those figures are the agency's own, drawn from its tracking.
Founder on Every Account
The GEO page says one of the two co-founders, Sharma or Shivanshi Bhatia, leads every account, reviews strategic decisions, and joins each biweekly client call. Reported results on the agency's site include a client moving from zero to roughly 20 percent of monthly inbound revenue from LLM referrals, and a real estate investor CRM becoming the most-cited vendor across more than 10 buyer prompts within 90 days.
