Chief Revenue Officer

Directive

Sean Baker is Chief Revenue Officer at Directive, the Irvine, California, B2B performance-marketing agency founded by Garrett Mehrguth and Tanner Shaffer. A former litigator with more than two decades in advertising and agency leadership, he now owns revenue operations for Directive's Customer Generation practice.

From Litigation to Omnicom

Baker began his career in litigation, then moved into advertising in 2000 when he joined Rapp Collins Worldwide, an Omnicom company. Over the next decade-plus he worked across direct marketing, data-driven strategy, and client development inside large holding-company networks.

Directive's team bio notes that he was selected for Omnicom's Senior Management Program, a multi-year executive curriculum hosted at Babson College with Harvard Business School faculty. He holds a B.A. in Communications and Biology with a minor in Art, and a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law.

Independent Agencies and Directive

In 2013 Baker left the holding-company world for independent agencies, focusing on revenue operations for performance-driven shops. He later joined Directive, first as Chief Operating Officer and now as Chief Revenue Officer on the firm's public leadership roster alongside Mehrguth and Shaffer.

Directive sells integrated performance marketing for B2B technology and enterprise brands.

Life in Boca Raton

Baker is based in Boca Raton, Florida. Away from client work, Directive's bio places him with family, fishing South Florida waters, or at the gym.
